Colors in the Landscape

Yellow is a must for contrast in the garden. This is a "Gold Mop" false cypress. One of my favorites for sure.

Another sure winner is of course the Japanese Maple. Burgundy/Crimson are the better color choices for contrast in my opinion.

This is a dissectum "Crimson Queen" variety that I have on my deck behind the house. It always looks great in the Spring but it got badly "burned" when I went on vacation last year in June so I just cut it back and sealed the cut. Now it has more character as long as I keep it watered because there is not much to cut back at this point if the top dies out again.

Gardening Tip of the Week

If you're like me and Springtime has you doing a lot of weeding then it's best to hand pull weeds just so you don't end up spraying a perennial that's making it's way out of the ground. Sometimes you may even end up with something new that a bird could of dropped in or the wind carried to your yard.

My Brothers Office/Shop

Used Ric's Hwy. 45 Signage as a template for some practice on this software. The mulching inserting tool is difficult to use though because of the small screen on this iPod.
